Located next door to the famous Temple Bar Pub in Dublin, The Shack Restaurant has served over 2 million guests in the past 26 years. This cookery book features a delightful blend of traditional, classic, and modern recipes from the restaurant’s menu and specials board.

But there’s more to this book than just recipes. Ellis takes readers on a fascinating historical exploration. First, we delve into the Irish Famine of 1845, which significantly influenced the country’s staple diet. Then, we traverse the ages, examining the Temple Bar district in Dublin from its past to its bustling present as one of the city’s busiest tourist and cultural areas. And no culinary journey would be complete without the personal touch of the author’s own food experiences and cooking insights.
