Deep Fried Brie

A popular recipe amongst cheese lovers, this is both simple to make and utterly delicious to eat.

As you bite into the outer shell of golden breadcrumbs, warm brie oozes out and melts into your mouth. Deep Fried Brie makes a light, satisfying starter.

Preparation time: 6 Minutes

Cooking time: 5 Minutes
Serving Suggestions: Baby leaves and cherry tomatoes

Ingredients

Serves Four 500g brie

100g plain flour 1 egg

200g breadcrumbs
200ml Cumberland sauce (p255)

Method

1. On a chopping board, cut the brie into 12 pieces
2. Dust the brie with flour, dip in the egg and coat in breadcrumbs. Then dip in egg again and breadcrumbs again to ensure proper coating.
3. Deep fry at high temperature for 4 to 5 minutes or until golden brown.

TIP: Making sure to keep a watchful eye on it as the brie can start to leak out, if this happens, remove immediately
