We stopped here the first night in Dublin and the food was so good we made it a point to stop by and eat there again the last night we were in Ireland. The staff were really nice and actually remembered us from before.
We had four different dishes between both times we were there. And they were all very good. The bangers and mash, and chicken Connemara were our favourites. The Bailey’s cheesecake was also very good. We tried it at several other restaurants and this was the best.

We enjoyed the Irish Stew and the Beef Ireland here. Staff were all very friendly. A great location opposite Temple Bar.

f you’re looking for a dining experience that combines exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a charming atmosphere, The Shack Restaurant is the place to be. On the corner, opposite the Temple Bar pub, this restaurant has become a beloved spot for us every time we visit Dublin.
Every dish is a masterpiece. The Irish Stew is a standout, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour. But the real showstopper is their Seafood Chowder—simply unforgettable. Each bite is a testament to the chef’s skill and dedication to quality. Whether you’re a meat lover or a seafood enthusiast, the menu here will leave you craving more.
The restaurant’s decor is tastefully Irish and inviting, creating a cosy yet authentic Irish dining environment. The terrace is our favourite spot—comfortable, shaded, and perfect for summer evenings, to people watch. And let’s not forget the immaculate toilets, a small but important detail that speaks volumes about the care and attention put into every aspect of the dining experience.
What truly sets this restaurant apart is the General Manager, Uta. Her infectious joy and genuine warmth make every visit feel like coming home. She’s the kind of host who remembers your name and makes you feel like part of the family. The young waitstaff are equally impressive—friendly, efficient, and a true credit to Uta’s leadership.
With a spend of around €26 per head, including drinks, this restaurant offers incredible value for the quality of food and service you receive. It’s a treat that won’t break the bank, making it perfect for regular visits or special occasions.
